Man Injured By His Own Boat Propeller
Imagine spending a bright sunny day out on the ocean, enjoying a pleasant boat ride with family. Though aware that things can at times go wrong, it never crosses our minds that whatever goes wrong can happen to us. A young 28-year-old California man was one the unlucky few who suffered the consequences of things going wrong.
On May 24, 2015, while enjoying a long weekend in honor of Memorial Day, this unnamed California resident suffered a possibly life threatening injury while out and about on a boat. At around 4:30pm, that Sunday, the man, whose name has not been released for purposes of a pending investigation, suffered an injury to the back of his legs, having an artery severed by one of the boat’s propellers. The San Bernardino Sheriff’s Station does not yet know how the accident took place and investigations are ongoing.
Reports indicate that a San Bernardino Sheriff’s boat was patrolling the area of the boating accidents and was able to render aid very quickly after the accident took place. The man was given treatment for his injuries very early on in the timeline before he was airlifted to Sunrise Hospital in Las Vegas. Thankfully, due to the quick response and treatment, the injured man is currently in a stable condition. Sheriff’s deputies continue to investigate the boating accident.
