Car Crash Kills One, Injures Two
Six-Car Collision Leads To Fatality
On June 15, 2015, a multi-car pile-up seriously injured two while killing another. The accident happened around 2:30 p.m. on the eastbound 91 Freeway, near the offramp to Adams Street. According to the California Highway Patrol, six vehicles were involved in the crash. Of the six, one, a red Ford sedan, was extensively damaged and its occupants were trapped inside.
Several lanes of the eastbound 91 were shut down, causing severe traffic just before rush hour, in order for the Riverside Fire Department to be able to extricate all victims from their vehicles and remove the vehicle from the road. One of the victims was pronounced dead at the scene while two others were taken to the hospital suffering from serious injuries.
The CHP is still investigating the cause of the accident. However, should it be determined that one of the parties caused the accident due to negligent behavior, the remaining victims and the family members of the decedent may be able to recover for their losses against the negligent driver. Such recovery could include: medical expenses, lost wages, pain and suffering, etc. In such cases, it is always helpful to have the aid of an experienced attorney to help navigate the applicable law.
